Leather Care

Care Is Simple, and It Matters

A leather Nagra rewards a small amount of attention. Five minutes a month is enough.

Everyday

  • Wipe with a dry, soft cloth after wearing
  • Store away from direct sunlight
  • Keep paper or a shoe tree inside to hold the shape
  • Rotate between pairs — leather needs a day to breathe between wears

Monthly

  • Apply a small amount of leather conditioner or a neutral cream
  • Work it in with a soft cloth in circular motions
  • Let it absorb for ten minutes, then buff gently

If They Get Wet

  • Blot with a dry cloth immediately
  • Stuff with newspaper to hold the shape
  • Dry at room temperature, away from heaters and direct sun
  • Condition once fully dry

Never dry leather with heat. A heater or hair dryer will stiffen and crack it permanently.

What to Avoid

  • Washing machines
  • Direct heat
  • Storing in plastic bags — leather needs air
  • Harsh chemical cleaners

Resoling

Because our soles are stitched rather than glued, any competent cobbler can resole them. A well-cared-for ZicoFit pair can be resoled more than once — which is the whole point of buying leather in the first place.
